Providing sustainability, privacy and beauty, all within code

This corner lot was in desperate need of privacy. City code prohibited fencing in this case, so custom metal screens are employed along with clumping bamboo to provide a screen in from those passing by, and out for the homeowners, who grew tired of the busy intersection just outside their front door. There are many angles from which one might appreciate this garden. Custom metal steps lead to a graduated stand up patio stone path to the front door, and a meandering path cuts through the minimalist landscape, while a basalt gravel mulch lends aesthetic contrast and a low maintenance universal surface. Cacti and succulents blend here with native and adapted plant material that provide texture and color, while custom cedar raised vegetable beds provide a convenient kitchen garden.
